What is everyone's thoughts on this controversial line?
I love them, although Mattel's shoddy distribution, combined with the POS Ordering systems of Walmart and Target are both constantly seeking to turn that love into an ever lasting hatred.
But we can hardly hold that against the designers, or the figures themselves.
My chief complaint with the line itself stems from a lack of accessories. Granted, you've got characters like Powergirl, and Superman... what exactly is there to put with one of them? But it seems so random who gets awesome accessories, like the recent Joker, and who gets nothing, like Green Lantern.
I would also love to see the line take some of the two-packs into the realms of Store Exclusives, and create a Secret Identities subline. A twopack of Bruce Wayne and Alfred. Clark Kent and Lois Lane. Hal Jorden and Oliver Queen, ecct.
What are is everyone's collecting priorities? Completist, or pick and choose?
I'm an oddball completist. I have a loyalty to my favorite characters, and favorite teams. But much like every marvel legend that came before, I could care less about the B-A-F, unless it happens to be one of those characters. (I do wish I had made an effort to complete Gorilla Grodd, though. But that was back when I hadn't figured out how I was going to approach this line).
I collect any favorite characters (The Green Arrow Family, Powergirl, Question, ecct), I collect any Green Lantern, or any other Lantern (Plain costume Sinestro doesn't count. Never did find the Sinestro Corps version). I collect any Teen Titan, past or present (Never found Nightwing) or related villain. And any super awesome niche team, like Shadowpact, or Secret Six.
If I have enough vested in any given wave, I may spring for the final two figures to complete the B-A-F.
I'm on the fence when it comes to Justice League International, or I can't Believe it's not Justice League characters. Having Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, and Captain Marvel, it really makes me want to go for them, too.
