While I had briefly entertained the idea of putting a junker Skullcruncher to pasture for the figure's alligator head, I had my heart set on using a Trypticon. While the original Skullcruncher's head would /probably/ work in terms of length, I'm almost certain that it is not tall or wide enough to accomplish what I wanted.

What exactly did I want? Well, today my junker Trypticon arrived. Now I get to show you. :)

Found a 'reasonably' priced Cybertron Snarl on Ebay last week, and it finally arrived in the mail today.

I've been modding that figure's hind legs into what will be Skullcruncher's front legs by adding a ball joint in between the first two points of stock articulation from the floor up. This will allow the 'hip' of the leg to roll back, but now the limb can pivot outwards perpendicularly like an alligator would, anatomically.

I'll be reinforcing the mods a bit with styrene and epoxy, and I still have the opposite leg to do, but this is how it'll look. They'll be mounted onto the main body soon.

Having finished the charity auction lithograph, I can get back to a little 'bashing. So, here we are!

I started working on the alt mode's front legs today. The relatively large black joint is actually Vector Prime's knees. I will be replacing the robot mode hips, thighs, and knees with Cybertron Jetfire's mostly because of the torso swivel joint on top of the pelvis... you'll see that soon enough.

I did this mod so that the front legs could rotate behind the robot mode legs during transformation so that there wasn't two gator legs just hanging out there nonchalantly. I may cut and sand a little bit on the gator legs to allow them to be more collapsible, but I'm not sure. They work the way everything is set up right now, and you can't really see them from the front. You /especially/ won't be able to see them when I bulk of the robot mode legs to look more like the gator neck and jowls... if that makes any sense.

Anywho, enjoy the pics.
